- ➤ Tennessee Valley Outreach plans to nearly double its shelter bed capacity if it raises enough funds in an ongoing fundraiser (the target amount remains undisclosed) to better serve local homeless residents. Decatur Daily
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Decatur drivers need not use headlights on cloudy days unless visibility drops below 500 feet or windshield wipers run due to rain, sleet or snow. Alabama Code 32-5-240 requires headlights from half an hour after sunset until half an hour before sunrise when conditions are unsafe. Rocket City Now
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Officials said the cost to complete the new Modaus Road Southwest Sportsplex ball fields has increased by between $15.1 million and $21.2 million, nearly doubling the original estimate. Further details on the selected option and timeline are pending. Decatur Daily
