- ➤ A ceremony to lay wreaths at veterans' graves is scheduled for Dec. 13 at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur+ local organizers honor military service in this annual tribute. Decatur Daily
- ➤ Decatur Youth Services is hosting its annual Christmas Giveaway on Dec. 14 at the Aquadome Recreation Center (free gifts are available for local families). Decatur Daily
- ➤ Grand marshal Frances D. Tate will lead the Decatur Christmas parade on Monday at 6:30 p.m.—sponsored by the Young Professionals of Decatur. Decatur Daily
- ➤ A winter clothing drive is underway to help residents stay warm by collecting coats, hats, gloves, and hoodies for young children, the elderly, and homeless individuals, with donations accepted at 119 First Avenue Northeast (Decatur) today. WAAY-TV

- ➤ Decatur eighth grader Ethan Botha and his mother, Lizelle Ford, attended Career Academies of Decatur Tuesday night and were impressed by the range of programs available to help prepare students for future careers. Decatur Daily
