- ➤ University of North Alabama’s Marching Pride is in New York City to perform in the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade tomorrow. The band—chosen from hundreds of applicants—has practiced a 75 second medley of Muscle Shoals music and will appear on TV between 9:22 and 9:52 central time on Thanksgiving Day. News 19

- ➤ Morgan County will have five new kayak launch sites along Flint Creek for renting kayaks — the sites will open within two years — giving residents and visitors a new way to enjoy the water. Decatur Daily

- ➤ Decatur Fire and Rescue swore in new chief Nathan Springer on Monday after former chief Tracy Thornton retired. Springer, who has served the department since 2004 and began his career at Greenhill Volunteer Fire Department, said he would lead a strategic planning process to build on the department’s strong foundation—ensuring consistent service for the community.
