  • Hands Across Decatur needs volunteers to extend its hours on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday as cold weather drives a 2,000% rise in demand—director Sue Terrell said helpers are needed for meal service, sign-in, and cleanup while winter coats and monetary donations are welcomed.  News 19

  • Hartselle beat Buckhorn 33 to 7 in a high school football playoff game on November 8. The Tigers will face Homewood next — Coach Bert Newton said his team showed strong offense and dominant special teams.  News 19
  • No. 4 Alabama delivered its best defensive effort in SEC play by beating LSU 20-9 on Saturday night—keeping the Tigers out of the end zone for the first time since 2012. The win gave Alabama its eighth consecutive victory and extended its home winning streak to 17 games while LSU made a midgame quarterback change.  News 19
  • No. 4 Alabama beat LSU 20-9 on Saturday night, holding the Tigers to 13 first downs and 232 yards—its best SEC defensive effort this season. The win extended Alabama's home winning streak to 17 games—while LSU, led by interim coach Frank Wilson, was penalized 10 times.  Rocket City Now
