  • Alabama Public Radio is asking for donations to replace its aging WQPR transmitter that serves northern Alabama and southern Tennessee—a donor is matching every gift up to $100K to reach a total goal of $200K.   • Alabama is honoring its over 400,000 veterans with Veterans Week that started on Nov. 5 and will continue through Nov. 11 as communities host events across the state. SPORTS NEWS

  • The Alabama A&M women's basketball team won 103-32 against Talladega College on Wednesday night at the AAMU Event Center, tying a record for most points in a game with a strong 31-4 start in the first quarter—an effort that set the tone for their season opener.   • Fairhope and James Clemens met for the first time in a Class 7A playoff game on October 17 in Decatur — head coaches Tim Carter and Juan Johnson, who had faced each other previously, led their teams in a competitive matchup.  AL.com
