  • The Decatur Police Department will host its annual Fall Festival on Oct. 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fort Decatur — 610 Fourth Ave. S.E.  Decatur Daily
  • Hands Across Decatur, a nonprofit helping the homeless, is struggling financially as poverty in the city increases. The organization is working to secure more funding to keep its services running.  Decatur Daily

CULTURE NEWS

  • Decatur’s City Hall Lawn will host the annual River Clay Fine Arts Festival from October 25—26, where visitors will enjoy live metal forging demonstrations, student art displays, an art market, kids’ activities, food sampling and live music. SPORTS NEWS

  • FOX54 aired highlights from week 8 high school football games on Friday night—region titles and playoff spots were at stake as Decatur Heritage lost 50—9 to Red Bay in a key matchup amid a competitive season.  Rocket City Now
  • Randolph beat Madison County 38—14 on Oct 17 and the win put the Raiders in line to make the playoffs for the sixth straight season.  WAAY-TV
