- ➤ AAA reported that as of October 13 Decatur drivers paid $2.63 per gallon for regular gas, which is below the national average of $3.08—nearby cities like Huntsville and Florence-Muscle Shoals saw prices between $2.67 and $2.71. - ➤ Morgan County Schools is planning to gradually switch to a new type of AED (automatic external defibrillator) on campuses to help save lives from cardiac arrest and improve emergency response, with the upgrade expected to begin in the coming months. Decatur Daily
- ➤ Local school systems are focusing on bullying prevention as officials report the issue remains a challenge nationwide — new programs and staff training will be introduced this school year. Decatur Daily

- ➤ At the 12th annual Power of Pink Luncheon + Fashion Show in Decatur, over 850 breast cancer survivors and their families gathered to honor their fight while raising $100,000 for Decatur Morgan Hospital's treatment and research.
