GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Voters in District 4 will cast ballots Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in a runoff election between Sarah French and Pam Werstler. Both advanced from an earlier contest+French faces scrutiny over a past conviction while Werstler highlights her 25 years of public service experience.  Rocket City Now
  • Central Avenue Southwest's northbound lanes—from Cedar Lake Drive to Courtney Drive—are closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and will be closed on Wednesday for Decatur Utilities' sewer rehabilitation work.  Decatur Daily

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Morgan County Health Department released inspection scores for food and lodging establishments inspected Sept. 15-20, with scores ranging from 76 to 100 on a 100-point scale. Some sites in Decatur and surrounding areas had critical issues like mold and broken equipment—scores below 85 signal needed improvements.  WAAY-TV
