- ➤ The Hartselle Depot Days Festival gave local families fun at the old depot and downtown on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free event, hosted by the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce and presented by Decatur Morgan Hospital, featured a kids’ station — with inflatables, games, and crafts — and a museum display of Hartselle’s railroad past. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Alabama Department of Education is considering a waiver that would let high school students take either the ACT or the WorkKeys test to show they are ready for college or a career. Students will take both tests during their junior year if the waiver is approved — a move that would make Alabama the first state to use a mixed testing system. Rocket City Now
