- ➤ Calhoun Community College enrollment continues to grow this fall and President Jimmy Hodges expects final numbers will show a 20% increase in students—marking a rise from last fall. Decatur Daily
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Decatur announced a Household Chemical Collection event that will take place at 1802 Central Parkway on Saturday, September 13 from 9 a.m.—noon where residents may drop off items like batteries, motor oil, and paint with a limit of 100 pounds per household. News 19
- ➤ TVA is hosting a tour of Wilson Dam as it nears its 100th anniversary tomorrow — the dam powers 380,000 homes and helps with navigation and flood control on the Tennessee River. TVA teams will inspect and update dam parts with a new hydro life extension program to keep the facility safe for the future. News 19
