  • Decatur Fire and Rescue conducted a door-to-door blitz at Kimberly Pines Mobile Home Park, installing free smoke detectors for nearly 100 homes to improve fire safety—Community Risk Reduction Officer Brandon Sivley advised residents to test detectors every six months as cooler weather approaches. The initiative supports proactive safety measures as heating begins to be used more widely.  WAAY-TV

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Priceville police chase ended Saturday night in Hartselle when a suspect’s car crashed on Highway 36, killing a 17-year-old and injuring several others, including one in critical condition — the suspect was taken into custody.  WAAY-TV
  • The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and EMS crews responded to a wreck near Hartselle at the intersection of East Byrd Road and Peachtree Road—two vehicles overturned and someone was trapped at 9:14 p.m. An air ambulance was sent to the scene and drivers were urged to use caution as crews worked the area.  News 19

  • A Priceville police chase over the weekend ended in a deadly collision that killed a 17-year-old student and injured several others, and Hartselle High School hosted a prayer gathering on Monday—Priceville police have placed the officer on leave while reviewing the incident and suspect Archie Hale recovers in hospital.  Rocket City Now

  • The Rocket City Trash Pandas kick off their final homestand today at Toyota Field—hosting the Chattanooga Lookouts and offering promotions like a youth T-shirt giveaway, fireworks shows, and jersey auctions—and will continue events through September 14 including a Memorial Stair Climb and charity nights.  Rocket City Now
