- ➤ A 26-year-old man was arrested in Hartselle after he threw a container of buttermilk on a woman's property and punched a police officer when officers responded to a call at 8:16 p.m. on August 29—he now faces a second-degree assault charge with a $2,500 bond. News 19
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Resurfacing of Alabama Highway 24 resumed on Tuesday, September 2 from SR-67/Beltline Road in Decatur to the Lawrence County line as part of a $2.7 million project paving 5.5 miles of road with milling and new pavement. ALDOT said the work will continue after Labor Day and is expected to be finished this fall—motorists should expect delays from single-lane closures. News 19
