CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Olivia Muse Hollon in Rogersville on August 15 for attempted property theft and forgery after investigators found she used false names and non-existent bank accounts to file fraudulent real estate documents—she now faces multiple charges and is held in custody pending a bond hearing. - ➤ The Court of Criminal Appeals denied former Decatur Police Officer Mac Marquette’s request to drop his murder charge for shooting Stephen Perkins during a failed repossession on Sept. 29, 2023 — his trial is set for Sept. 15 and he may appeal the decision to the state supreme court. News 19

- ➤ On August 14, Chamber staff joined regional leaders at the Cook Museum of Natural Science in Decatur for the 7th annual State of the Region luncheon hosted by LAUNCH Regional Partnership. The event unveiled the Tennessee Valley Regional Strategic Plan—an initiative that sets a 2025 roadmap for new leadership programs and enhanced collaboration among government, education and business sectors. - ➤ The City of Decatur approved relocating its polling place from the Carrie Matthews Recreation Center to St. James Cumberland Presbyterian Church (920 Moulton Street West) for the Municipal Elections on Tuesday, August 26.
