- ➤ North Alabama Airfest will be held at Pryor Field Regional Airport in Tanner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14; the event will feature military demonstrations, high-speed fly-bys, rides, displays, and food vendors. News 19

- ➤ A Lester man is facing multiple charges after a high-speed chase in Morgan County—19-year-old Jeremiah Hawke McLemore sped his silver pickup on Interstate 65 at 11 p.m. Saturday, maneuvered dangerously by using the shoulder and discarding items, and was stopped by spike strips while a juvenile passenger was released to a guardian. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Decatur City Council approved a project to expand Cook Museum nearly doubling its size with new STEM classrooms and nine themed galleries — the renovation will be supported by state and museum funds while a third party builds a 130-room hotel and the city constructs a parking deck. Some local residents expressed concern about future costs — councilman Billy Jackson opposed the parking deck due to its undetermined price, calling it a 'black check'. Rocket City Now
- ➤ Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen teamed with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency to launch Alabama Combats Trafficking (ACT), a program that helps local businesses learn how to spot human trafficking.
