COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Fallen veterans from Morgan and Cullman counties will be honored during a memorial service on August 9th at 10 a.m. at Sparkman Park in Hartselle—hosted by the Military Order of. Decatur Daily
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Limestone County Schools are preparing for the new school year with new programs and upgrades such as a STEAM program, agriculture classes, accessible playgrounds, and an expanded career technical center. The district is also renovating Tanner High and Elementary and working to hire more teachers—superintendent Dr. Randy Shearouse said these changes aim to improve academics and hands-on learning. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Decatur will resume a roadway lighting rehabilitation project along Alabama Highway 20 from Market Street to just north of Riverwalk Marina on August 4 until October 10 with crews working from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drivers should expect lane closures in one direction—boom truck lifts will be used during repairs—and plan alternate routes to avoid delays. News 19
