- ➤ Priceville Police Department and Morgan County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a bank robbery that took place Thursday at Traditions Bank on AL-67 (no suspect has been taken into custody and any injuries remain unknown). News 19
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Calhoun Community College announced a new respiratory therapy training program that will begin this fall at its Huntsville campus to meet local demand for respiratory therapists—an accelerated five-semester course that leads to an AAS degree—. Local healthcare partners helped shape the program to ensure graduates qualify for NBRC certification exams. News 19
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ ALDOT will close the Parker Road bridge over I-65 near Hartselle Thursday at noon for a six-week project—crews will raise the bridge by 13 inches to boost clearance to 17 feet. Motorists are urged to take alternate routes until the bridge reopens around Aug. 7. WAAY-TV
- ➤ Gov. Ivey on Thursday named 11 leaders to the new Alabama Veterans Resource Center Board to help veterans get job training, benefit help and legal support. The board will meet in the coming weeks—its work is set to improve and streamline services for veteran families. News 19
- ➤ The Parker Road Bridge on I-65 near Hartselle closed at noon on July 24 as ALDOT raised the bridge 13 inches for a 17-foot clearance—drivers are advised to use alternate routes while the six-week closure is part of a $16.5 million resurfacing project in Morgan County. News 19
