- ➤ A Bessemer man, Martellis Maurice Smith, was arrested on Jul 23rd by Priceville police near the I-65 and Highway 67 interchange after officers saw him driving in reverse and found cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, and he now faces DUI and drug possession charges with a $40,000 bond. - ➤ The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old James Michael Simmons after he fled a drug operation in Decatur – he was caught following a chase across county lines and now faces multiple felony charges including evading arrest and reckless driving. News 19
- ➤ A chase in Decatur ended Monday when officers arrested James Michael Simmons, 44, who ran from a drug operation and hid in bushes near Huntsville & was treated for injuries before being booked into jail. WAAY-TV
- ➤ Police responded to a shooting call on Monday at the 300 block of Robin Road SW in Decatur and found one person dead; Bernabe Eguia (44) was arrested on a manslaughter charge with a $100,000 bond, and Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn later identified the victim as Terra Ward (42). WAAY-TV
