- ➤ Former Decatur officer Mac Marquette—charged with murder for fatally shooting Stephen Perkins during a tow truck dispute on Sept. 29—is set to face trial in September if the appeals court upholds the lower court ruling that denied his immunity, with the state's attorney general noting conflicting witness accounts on whether he was on legitimate duty. - ➤ A Moulton woman was charged with financial exploitation of the elderly and elder neglect after police investigation in Priceville revealed she stole about $20,000 from an elderly couple and did not get them needed medical care—she was arrested Wednesday at the Priceville Municipal Building and booked into Morgan County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
