- ➤ Five people accused in the capital murder for hire of a Hartselle man appeared in court on Friday, with Judge Jennifer Howell stating that Logan Delp’s trial is scheduled between Oct. 15 and Oct. 31—250 jury summons will be sent—and that each defendant will be tried separately. News 19
- ➤ A Decatur man named Matthew Leon Mosley Jr. was arrested during a traffic stop in Priceville on Friday at 12:05 a.m. along Highway 67 near Indian Hills Road — police said he had seven active nationwide extradition felony warrants and five misdemeanor warrants from Morgan County and he is held without bond at Morgan County Jail. - ➤ Wilson Lock reopened after nine months of repairs 75 miles downstream from Decatur — its reopening is expected to ease a backlog of barges that has affected local industries. Decatur Daily

- ➤ Gov. Kay Ivey is launching her Summer Reading Challenge for all rising kindergarten through eighth grade students for the 2025 to 2026 school year+ she asks them to write a letter with their favorite summer book, name, entering grade and school. The challenge runs through September 8 while the Second Lady hosts a nationwide reading challenge where students must read 12 books by September 5 to win a certificate, prize and a trip to Washington, D.C. - ➤ Decatur Downtown Redevelopment Authority has set plans to ramp up downtown holiday events as Christmas lights and sounds are scheduled to debut six months from today — the move aims to boost local cheer during the festive season. Decatur Daily
- ➤ Starting Monday, June 30, Priceville police said the intersections at Skidmore Road and Cedar Street + Skidmore Road and Greenfield Drive will be converted to three-way stops to slow traffic and lower accident risks. News 19
