  • Decatur man Thomas Michael Fortinberry, 51, was arrested on June 13 on federal charges of violating U.S. sanctions and laundering money during sales of industrial equipment to Venezuelan state-owned companies—he will appear in Southern District of Texas court today.  Rocket City Now
  • A 27-year-old Decatur woman was fatally shot early Saturday and her loved ones held a balloon release at Rhodes Ferry Park on Thursday to honor her memory — her accused friend Ronald Bland faces a court hearing today.  WAAY-TV

  • Last week, firefighters, military personnel, and industrial workers from across the country and overseas met in Decatur for hazmat training to learn how to safely repair a valve.  Decatur Daily
