- ➤ Jury deliberations began yesterday in the case of Decatur chiropractor Brian Mann who is accused of attempting to poison his wife with lead—Mann pleaded not guilty when he was charged in September 2022. The state called seven witnesses over the past two days and deliberations will resume today at 9:30 a.m. WAAY-TV
- ➤ A Decatur man, LeCorbin Sales, was indicted on charges of reckless manslaughter and DUI in May for a 2024 crash that killed 69-year-old Ronald Anderson—who was struck while exiting his Dodge Ram on Zehner Road near New Cut Road in Athens. WAAY-TV
- ➤ Priceville police caught 20-year-old Tennessee man Trevor Allen Armstrong during a traffic stop near mile marker 335 on Interstate 65 on Tuesday night & officers found a Glock 45, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle & he was charged with false identity and forbidden firearm possession and is now held on an $80,000 bond. - ➤ Morgan County Sheriff’s Youth Academy will host free law enforcement training for local students in the 9th, 10th and 11th grades from July 14 to July 17 in Hartselle as the program runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
