- ➤ River City Pride brings a weekend of free and ticketed events to Decatur from June 6 to 8, starting with a parade Friday at 6 p.m. on Bank Street and an after parade party at Carnegie Visual Arts Center. Today, a 5K race offers T-shirts and medallions to the top 20 runners before a festival begins at 11 a.m. at Ingalls Harbor with vendors, music and food trucks and the weekend wraps up with a community picnic Sunday at The Church at Stone River—organized by the Southeastern Diversity Project. - ➤ On Thursday night, a Tennessee man fled a traffic stop on the 3200 block of Point Mallard Parkway, sparking a high-speed chase on I-65 that ended in a crash near Adams Road—he was arrested with drug paraphernalia while his female passenger remains wanted. Rocket City Now
- ➤ A man was injured in a shooting at the Polyplex parking lot; Decatur Police said the incident happened around 5:11 a.m. Friday and the victim was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment—no arrests have been made as the investigation continues. News 19
- ➤ On Thursday, Priceville police pursued a vehicle on I-65 when a driver fled a stop near Point Mallard Parkway and later crashed near Adams Road; authorities arrested Richard Conrad Rothe, 34, who was found with fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and multiple warrants—while a female passenger remains at large. - ➤ Priceville police arrested Chantly Shondale Williams Sr., a 47-year-old man from Roanoke accused of possessing a firearm as a felon, after stopping his vehicle along I-65 Southbound around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday and transferring him to Morgan County Jail (where he is held on a $50,000 bond). - ➤ Priceville police arrested 34-year-old Richard Conrad Rothe on drug charges after he fled a traffic stop on the 3200 block of Point Mallard Parkway and crashed near Adams Road — police are still searching for his missing female passenger. WAAY-TV

- ➤ The Decatur Youth Services Summer Employment Program started this week and gives 85 teenagers real work experience at local daycares, summer camps, hair stores and restaurants—teaching them time management, responsibility and communication. Some students, like Ta’veon Goldsmith and Ja’Nya Bumpus, said the jobs boost their confidence and spark ideas for future careers. WAAY-TV
