  • Alabama will hold its 20th Annual Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday beginning July 18 at 12:01 a.m. and ending July 20 at midnight when items like school supplies, computers, and clothing become tax free (local sales tax may still apply).  News 19

  • The Alabama Department of Human Resources recommends that EBT cardholders use the new Lock/Unlock feature on the ConnectEBT app—especially the 'Lock Card Everywhere' option—to block out-of-state fraud, after reports show nearly $15.9 million in SNAP benefits were replaced from May 2023 to December 20, 2024 due to fraudulent out-of-state transactions.  News 19
