  • On Monday, Decatur City Council approved a temporary cellular facility for AT&T and a retail liquor license for Rock the South festival scheduled in June (which will feature stars like Jason Aldean, Riley Green, and Zach Top) to draw large crowds to the River City.  Rocket City Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Emily Hadden of Union Hill School was named the Chamber’s SuperStar Teacher for May with support from Hubbard & Drake General-Mechanical Contractors, as she received a $150 classroom gift card, a $50 personal card, and a $1,000 grant for the school.  Decatur Chamber of Commerce

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • ALDOT will suspend temporary lane closures (Friday at noon through Monday at 11:59 p.m.) on interstates for Memorial Day travel to ease congestion (aiming to keep journeys safer).  Rocket City Now
