- ➤ TVA reports North Alabama lakes at Guntersville, Wheeler and Wilson are at optimal levels for Memorial Day weekend thanks to dam management — officials warn that levels may drop sooner if spring rains do not continue. Rocket City Now

- ➤ Alabama does not require all railroad crossings to have gates since each site is evaluated using train speed, traffic, sight distance and accident history; the DOT and FRA work with railroads to decide on upgrades and invite locals to request a safety review if needed. Rocket City Now
