  • The WEDC Foundation has announced the honorees for its 25th annual Women Honoring Women gala fundraiser on Sept. 17 at the VBC Saturn Ballroom. The event will honor local women leaders from business, media, and nonprofits + celebrate their impact across North Alabama.  WAAY-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Today, health experts advise Decatur residents to guard against tick populations by wearing long sleeves (light-colored helps spot ticks), using EPA-registered repellent (at least 30% DEET), and checking for ticks after being outside. They warn that treatment for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever within 72 hours of a bite is essential.  Rocket City Now
