  • Decatur police arrested I’tionna Monae Leslie (27) and Casandra Yvette Leslie (59) on Thursday on charges of aggravated child abuse, and they are held without bonds pending an Aniah’s Law hearing on April 30 and arraignment on June 23; I’tionna was previously arrested for child abuse though that case was dismissed.  AL.com
  • A jail inmate threatened a Morgan County judge by saying he would shoot the judge in the head and burn his house on Thursday—now he faces an additional terroristic threat charge.  Decatur Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The city removed a towering tree on Friday from the Old Decatur Historic District for safety reasons as several trees had fallen or needed removal. In partnership with the Historic Decatur Association, officials will plant new trees to restore the area's greenery.  Decatur Daily
