ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Authorities responded to a three-vehicle accident on Hwy 231 Tuesday night at about 7:55 p.m. when a car rolled over and caught fire on Brindlee Mountain — crews from Lacey’s Spring Fire Rescue, Brindlee Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office helped clear the scene and took two people with minor injuries to the hospital. - ➤ Robert Young, 39, was arrested in a drug probe after Priceville police stopped his vehicle for cocaine and later found methamphetamine, fentanyl, cash and handguns, and he now faces charges for trafficking drugs while held in Madison County Jail on a $1.25 million bond. WAAY-TV
- ➤ Two Morgan County corrections officers were attacked over the weekend by inmate Earl Eugene Bates Jr. with a handmade shank—he faces murder charges from a 2022 stabbing, received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at Decatur Morgan Hospital, and Bates was returned to Lawrence County Jail amid new assault charges.
