ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday night, the Morgan County Rescue Squad and Falkville Fire + Rescue rescued one person stranded in floodwaters on East Lacon Road near Vulcan Materials and reminded drivers to avoid flooded roads since shallow water can hide dangers. News 19
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ In Falkville during a traffic stop on Sunday along I-65 North, police arrested Hartselle men Tyler Blain Miller and Terrance Simeon Jeudy on Dangerous Drugs-Drug Trafficking charges after officers detected a marijuana odor and found a trafficking amount of a Fentanyl and Crystal Meth mixture—both were taken to Morgan County Jail on a $140,000 bond due to past convictions. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Alabama Department of Transportation warned drivers in Decatur that a segment of State Route 20 eastbound will be closed for railroad repairs on April 9 (weather permitting) while traffic is redirected to one lane of the westbound roadway. The repairs will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., so drivers should expect delays. News 19
- ➤ The IRS announced in October 2024 that taxpayers in 7 states (including Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, parts of Florida, Tennessee and Virginia) affected by Hurricane Helene now have until May 1 to file federal returns and pay taxes. Alabama residents must still file state returns by April 16 (no postponement applies). News 19

- ➤ The Morgan County Health Department released food and lodging inspection scores from March 31—April 4 for Decatur sites. Two local establishments scored below 85 with critical violations while two earned perfect scores, showing a mixed record in food safety compliance. WAAY-TV
