- ➤ Excellence in Leadership class is hosting the Dec Days Festival on Saturday, April 18 in downtown Decatur along 1st Avenue between Moulton and Grant streets. - ➤ Harvard University students are spending their spring break building homes in Heritage Creek, Decatur (in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County) after traveling over 1,000 miles to north Alabama. Their visit marks the second volunteer trip since the pandemic, continuing a tradition that began over 20 years ago. WAAY-TV

- ➤ Governor Ivey ordered flags lowered to half-staff in honor of Major Alex Klinner—a Trussville native killed last week while serving in Iraq. The order takes effect on the day of Klinner’s interment, with officials promising an updated memo once that date is announced. Rocket City Now

- ➤ The Alabama Department of Public Health advises residents to take early antihistamines as severe pollen from elm and maple trees is expected to trigger allergy symptoms this weekend, with Sunday’s count predicted at 11.8 out of 12 + urging those with worsening symptoms to consult their doctor.
