- ➤ Everyday Sunshine, a nonprofit that supports people with developmental disabilities, will host The Inclusion Initiative on March 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. at The Church at Stone River, 3014 Danville Road. Decatur Daily
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Plans are underway for a new medical facility on Highway 24 in Moulton that will offer extended urgent care (plus diagnostic imaging, lab services and therapy) to ease pressure on local ambulances after emergency services closed nearly a year ago. Construction will take 16 to 18 months. WAAY-TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Top collegiate cheer squads will compete at the 2026 SSAC Championship on Mar. 6–7 at Calhoun Community College in Tanner. The two-day event begins Friday at 8 a.m. at Kelley Gymnasium (6250 US-31) and will feature teams including last year’s champion Florida Memorial University with concessions and merchandise for spectators. - ➤ Five North Alabama teams competed in the 6A and 7A regional basketball semifinals yesterday at Wallace State + Jacksonville State. The scores reflect a day of tight competition during the AHSAA event. WAAY-TV
- ➤ New Hope Indians named Scott Peavey as its head football coach on Friday + he is the winningest coach in Madison County High School history, joining after two seasons at Etowah + to lead a team that finished 2-8 last year. WAAY-TV
