- ➤ City officials in Decatur are testing new batteries today to repair five nonfunctional tornado sirens, and they will take further action if the inexpensive fix does not work. Decatur Daily
- ➤ Decatur Utilities crews are repairing a water main leak at the intersection of Eighth Street and 20th Avenue Southeast, as announced Thursday evening. Decatur Daily
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Huntsville Hospital signed a $450 million deal to acquire Crestwood Medical Center and said that operations & pay will stay the same, though some local leaders worry that fewer healthcare choices may hurt the community; federal regulators will review the acquisition. Rocket City Now
- ➤ Alabama ranked among the four worst states by receiving F scores in all tobacco control categories, including prevention funding, smoke-free laws, and cessation services, according to the American Lung Association report.
