TVA today says its power system remains stable despite icy conditions causing outages in parts of north Alabama, north Mississippi and Tennessee, and crews are working around the clock to restore electricity.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association announced it will split state championships for public and private schools over the next two years while teams keep playing together in the regular season.
The reclassification assigns regions from 6A to 1A and includes Decatur High School in Region 7.
Alabama A&M University unveiled its 2026 football schedule on Friday, featuring a 12-game season with six home matches for the first time since 2003.
The season kicks off with a Labor Day opener at Louis Crews Stadium + includes key conference and classic matchups in Atlanta, Birmingham and on the road.
